This Cookie Policy explains which cookies ocuvanta.com (the "Site") sets in your browser and why. The Site is operated under the OCUVANTA brand; the identity of the operator and its contact details are given in the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They allow the site to remember a choice you made or to recognize your browser during a visit. Cookies cannot run programs or read other files on your device.

2. Our approach

The Site sets only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. We do not set analytics, advertising, social-media or tracking cookies. Fonts, scripts and styles are self-hosted, so visiting the Site does not load resources from third-party providers that could set their own cookies.

If the operator decides in the future to enable an analytics or similar service, this policy and the Privacy Policy will be updated first and, where required by law, your consent will be requested before such cookies are set.

3. Cookies we set

ocu_region

• Purpose: remembers the storefront you selected (language and currency), so that you are not asked again on your next visit.
• Set when: you choose or are redirected to a storefront.
• Lifetime: 1 year.
• Type: strictly necessary (preference). Contains only the storefront code; no personal data.

ocu_cart

• Purpose: holds an opaque identifier that links your browser to a shopping cart stored on the server. Prices and contents are calculated on the server; the cookie itself contains no product, price or personal data.
• Set when: you add a product to the cart.
• Lifetime: 30 days.
• Type: strictly necessary (functional). HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax; not readable by scripts in the page.

ocu_cart_intent

• Purpose: remembers that an item you put in the cart is a renewal or an upgrade of a license you already own, so that checkout extends that license instead of issuing a new key.
• Set when: you start a renewal or an upgrade from the license access page.
• Lifetime: 24 hours.
• Type: strictly necessary (functional). Signed, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax.

ocu_la

• Purpose: keeps you signed in to the license access page for one visit after you have entered your order number and recovery code, so that you can view your license, invoice and downloads without entering them again on every page.
• Set when: you successfully open the license access page.
• Lifetime: 30 minutes.
• Type: strictly necessary (security). Signed, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax.

ocu_admin

• Purpose: keeps an administrator signed in to the administration panel of the Site.
• Set when: an administrator signs in. It is never set for visitors or customers.
• Lifetime: the duration of the administrator's session, as configured in the admin panel.
• Type: strictly necessary (security). HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict.

The administration panel also uses short-lived technical cookies during sign-in and two-factor authentication, and to show a secret once immediately after it is created. They are set only for signed-in administrators, never for visitors or customers.

4. Cookies we do not set

• No analytics or statistics cookies (no page-view or behavior measurement).
• No advertising, remarketing or conversion-tracking cookies.
• No social-media or embedded-content cookies.
• No cross-site identifiers of any kind.

The Site never receives card data, so no cookie contains or refers to payment card details.

5. Browser storage

The Site may use your browser's local storage to cache the display of your cart. This is a display cache only; the server remains the source of truth for cart contents and prices. Clearing your browser storage removes the cache without affecting your order or your license.

6. Payment pages

When you pay, you are redirected to the secure payment page of the bank you selected. That page is operated by the bank and may set its own cookies under the bank's own policy. The Site has no control over cookies set on the bank's pages.

7. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Because the cookies above are strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent the storefront from remembering your region selection or your cart, will prevent the license access page from working, and administrators will not be able to sign in.

8. Changes

We may update this policy when the cookies used by the Site change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
